Short answer: an impression is eBay showing your listing to a buyer. A view, which the report also calls a click, is a buyer opening it. Sales conversion is the share of views that bought. All three are in Seller Hub under Performance, then Traffic, one row per listing. On my own account in the 30 days to 2026-09-21, 88,923 impressions became 1,036 views, so about one buyer in 86 who saw a listing opened it.
I am Scott Herz and I run Close The Deal, a resale and consignment business that sells on eBay. This is the report I read every week, explained in plain words, because eBay’s own page on it is short and most of what is written about it elsewhere is guesswork.
What is an impression on eBay?
One appearance of your listing in front of a buyer. Search results, the “similar items” strips on other listings, the home page feed, all of it counts. The report splits impressions into three places: the top 20 search spots, the rest of the search results, and everything that is not search. A listing with impressions only in “rest of search” is being shown on page three, where almost nobody scrolls.
What is a view, and is it the same as a click?
Yes. A view is a buyer opening the listing page. The report calls it a page view and calculates click through rate as views from eBay divided by impressions. It also separates views that came from eBay from views that came from outside, such as Google. If a listing has plenty of outside views and few from eBay, buyers are finding it, just not through eBay search.
What is sales conversion rate?
Orders divided by views. It tells you what happened after the click: the buyer read the listing and either bought or left. A listing with lots of views and no sales has a different problem from a listing with no views at all, and the two need different fixes.
Where is the traffic report in Seller Hub?
Seller Hub, then Performance, then Traffic. Set the range to 30 days. Scroll to the listing table, sort by impressions, and use the download link to get the whole thing as a spreadsheet. That download is the Active listings traffic report, and it is the file every number on this site comes from.
What do the three numbers look like on a real account?
| 30 days to 2026-09-21, 987 active listings | Count |
|---|---|
| Impressions | 88,923 |
| Views (clicks) | 1,036 |
| Click through rate | 1.2% |
| Listings with zero impressions | 58 |
| Listings with impressions and zero views | 650 |
| Listings with at least one view | 285 |
Read those three listing counts as three different problems. Zero impressions means eBay is not showing the listing, which is nearly always a title or item specifics problem. Impressions and zero views means buyers saw it and scrolled, which is the first photo, the title and the price as they appear in the search row. Views and no sale means the listing page itself, the condition notes, the shipping and the price, did not close.
How often should you read it?
Once a week is enough, and thirty days is the right window. A single day is noise. What you are looking for is which of the three groups each listing is in, because that decides what to change. The free pricing guide here covers the last group. If you would rather have the whole account sorted for you, that is what the audit is, read only, same day.
